Spring is just under our noses, evident not only by the eerily warm weather we’ve had this week, but also by the fact that street fest season is starting to come together. A handful of street fest dates have just been announced, including Green Music Fest, which already has its headliners picked out.
Green Music Fest is set for June 23 and 24 in Wicker Park (Damen Ave between North and Schiller), and we’re thoroughly stoked about the headliners--Dinosaur Jr. will headline the first night, and The Raveonettes play the second night. The remainder of the lineup is still underway. For those who aren’t into festivals, each band will take the stage at Subterranean the night before playing Green Fest (Dinosaur Jr. June 22 and Raveonettes June 23).
The rest of the fest’s musical lineups have yet to be announced, and there are still plenty more fests to surface. But the schedule so far indicates that there’ll be good food, fare, and drinking in public pretty much every weekend through summer:
Do-Division Street Fest: June 1-3, Division between Ashland & Leavitt, $5 donation
Ribfest Chicago: June 8-10, Northcenter (at Lincoln/Damen/Irving)
Green Music Fest: June 23-24, Damen Ave between North and Schiller, $5 Donation
West Fest: July 7-8, Chicago Ave between Damen & Wood, $5 donation
Taste of River North: July 20-22 in Ward Park, $5 Donation
