The Chicago Independent Radio Project (CHIRP) announced recently the details of its 10th Annual Record Fair & Other Delights on April 14 -15, 2012, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Think of it as Record Store Day for people who actually collect records.) The fair, which takes place at Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Union (1340 West Washington Blvd.), will have over 80 tables of vinyl, CDs, posters, ‘zines, artwork, and crafts, so you'll have plenty of spaces to bond with your fellow record collectors.

Additionally, there will be a children’s area, photo booth, pop quiz trivia hosted by Jake Austen of Roctober and Chic-a-go-go, live rock and roll caricatures and a DJ set from Plastic Crimewave, and an additional DJ set from the folks at Numero Group.

Recently, CHIRP also announced a partnership with The Crowne Plaza Chicago Metro Hotel, located less than a mile away from the fair, for a group rate for out-of-towners.

Admission is $7, or $5 with an ad or flyer, while a special $25 pre-admission session from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday allows collectors early access and offers unlimited access for both days. Not bad at all. Get on this, people.
