The Good Food Festival, one of the best food events of the year, is happening this Saturday at the UIC forum. If you haven't bought tickets yet, get on it right now! In addition to an exhibit floor with more than 150 vendors and exhibitors, there are chef demos, a seed swap, workshops and classes and tons more to enjoy.

The high-end highlight of the event are the four gold workshops. One of them is already sold out, but there are still tickets to Rob Levitt's whole-animal butchering session. If you've never worked with Rob before and you care about where your meat comes from, you need to see this. If you want something a little less meaty, try the workshop on food preservation with an expert from Seed Savers. Each of the workshops costs $100, but if you use our discount code, you can get them for only $60.

Even if you don't pay for one of the fancy classes, there are a ton of workshops and classes for you to attend. Last year, we visited the Conscious Carnivorism workshop and it was awesome. This year, you can sample great sessions like:

- In the Preservation Kitchen (with Paul Virant)
- Chickens Come Home to Roost
- The Buzz on Bees (with Michael Thompson of the Chicago Honey Coop)
- Putting Vegetables at the Center of Your Plate (with Jill Baron of Mana Food Bar and Jason Hammel of Lula)

And tons more. Check out the whole schedule here, and buy tickets here. Our discount runs until 5 p.m.
