Black Dog Gelato Opening Roscoe Village Location

Good news for gelato lovers in Roscoe Village. Black Dog Gelato is opening a second location in the former Bleeding Heart Bakery space at 1955 W. Belmont. Now fans of Jessie Oloroso's gelatos will have two locations to get their fix.

Oloroso is targeting a late spring opening for the new storefront, which will have more seating and a larger production space that will allow her to expand on her creations to include plated desserts such as a Hawaiian sundae with roasted pineapple and barbecue sauce.

Black Dog's goat cheese cashew caramel gelato is on our Death Row dinner menu and Oloroso is at the head of the class of local gelato makers, along with Nice Cream Co., Snooklefritz and Ruth & Phil's.
