The Blackhawks are now 7-1-1 in their last nine games, all without Jonathan Toews. Rookie Andrew Shaw was the star of the game, with his first career two-goal game while matched up against Capitals star Alex Ovechkin most of the game. Patrick Kane, Bryan Bickell and Dave Bolland also scored for the Hawks. Corey Crawford, starting his second straight game, stopped 16 of 18 shots as the Hawks improved their record against Eastern Conference to 12-3-2 on the year.
