Chicago Firefighters Rescue Dog From Fourth Floor Ledge

By Samantha Abernethy in News on Mar 20, 2012 9:25PM

Firefighters rescued a small dog from a fourth floor ledge in Lincoln Park yesterday. The 4-year old wire fox terrier named Maggie had crawled out through a cracked window and stood on a five-inch-wide ledge.

The dog's owners were not home when she sneaked out on the ledge. Their property manager called for emergency crews.

WGN writes:

The call went out to the fire department and firefighters quickly set up a tarp just in case she fell.

Firefighter Raul Murcio raced up to the fourth floor unit and peeked out of the window. Apparently, noise from the fire trucks startled the dog. She slowly started backing up.

Take that under advisement, dog owners. Head to WGN to see video of the rescue.
