Rubblebucket is a raucous octet that makes danceable rock music, performing what's sure to be a colorful set tonight at Lincoln Hall. The band once called themselves an orchestra, which makes sense when you consider the variety of instruments on stage — the standards, all of the horns and something called a N’goni. Psychedelic surf rockers The Growlers perform, too, and Chicago-based singer/songwriter Kellen & Me opens.

The band's 2011 album Omega La La is a warm, feel-good party, and we're looking forward to seeing the live translation of that tonight. Rubblebucket is also releasing a new live CD/DVD called Live in Chicago that was filmed last fall at the Double Door. It is available to order now on their website, and watch a clip below of their performance of "Breatherz (Young As Clouds)".
