Do This: Forgotten Chicago To Screen Vivian Maier Film
By Amy Cavanaugh in Arts & Entertainment on Mar 25, 2012 2:45PM
Next Saturday Forgotten Chicago hosts FC175, an event that celebrates the city’s 175th birthday with tours, local food and drink, and a party. The latest activity to be added to the schedule is the first Midwest screening of a film by Vivian Maier, a nanny who took more than 100,000 photographs and shot films, but never shared them with anyone. Her work was discovered after her death in 2009, and her street photographs have been shown around the city.
FC175 will also include a presentation on the history of The Chicagoan, beer from Revolution Brewery, and a soundtrack of Chicago soul music compiled by the Windy City Soul Club.
FC175 will be held from 7-10 p.m. at the Greenhouse Loft, 2545 West Diversey, next Saturday, and tickets are $75.75 through Tuesday, and more after that. Get tickets and more info here.
