Pencil This In: "Solidarity" Beer Tastings At Timothy O'Toole's Pubs

2012_3_29_PTI.jpg I made my feelings about beer festivals known in our preview of Saturday's Chicago Beer Festival a couple of days ago. Here's another beer tasting that is at the opposite end of the spectrum, with a good list of craft breweries being tasted out at a bar I normally wouldn't visit.

Timothy O'Toole's Pubs in River East and Gurnee are hosting a "solidarity" beer tasting starting 11 a.m. Saturday. The participating breweries include Stone, Three Floyds, Half Acre, Dogfish Head, New Belgium, Victory Brewing, Great Lakes, and Two Brothers. You can stay and drink at either pub for $15, which includes five samples and a keepsake glass. For $50, you can take a bus from each brewpub to the other at noon, have an unlimited food buffet, and have 10 samples of beer—five for each pub. Brewery reps will be aboard the buses, which will return to the bars at 3 p.m.

To RSVP, call the Chicago Timothy O'Toole's at 312-642-0700 or the Gurnee location at 847-249-0800.
