- Rockit Ranch Productions, which owns Rockit, Sunda and Underground, will be opening a new place this summer. Eater reported that Dragon Ranch Moonshine & BBQ is holding an open call for staff on April 2, and that the menu will combine Asian influences and American comfort food. The bar program will focus on "moonshine," and the restaurant is working with a distillery to create a custom-branded moonshine. No firm word on location yet, though 312 Dining Diva reported earlier this year that the new spot would be next to the Melman Bros new Country Western/Tiki bar on Clark St.

- The Chicago Honey Co-Op, which lost its long-time home earlier this year, has successfully relocated. Testa Produce is hosting the bees at its Back-of-the-Yards HQ, according to Grubstreet Chicago. Grubstreet quoted an evocative (and terrifying, for anyone with an insect phobia) passage about how bees are moved: "After strapping the hives closed the night before, the beekeepers returned the next morning to move the boxes, each weighing 80 to 100 pounds. The last step, after securing the hives on cinder blocks at the new location, is to undo the straps, pull out the screen - and run."

- Chef Dale Levitski has been teasing us via facebook for a few weeks now about the opening of his new place, Frog n Snail. Urban Daddy warned us to expect a mid-week opening, but things got a tiny bit pushed back - the restaurant opens today for lunch. Dinner service won't start till next week, but until then you can enjoy the lunch menu, which includes a green tomato burger with aioli that has us intrigued. Stop in between 11 and 3 today.
