Naha Serves Up Homemade Peeps

2012_4_4_Peeps.jpg Remember Peeps? The ubiquitous marshmallow birdies have been mushed, sculpted and mocked all over the internet, but this is the first time we've ever seen a fine dining, michelin-starred peep! Pastry Chef Craig Harzewski at Naha has cooked up the peeps to serve (for free!) in the two weeks before Easter.

Chef/Owner Carrie Nahabedian told us that the peeps were created at the request of her sister Cathy, a "candy freak" who loves peeps. "It brings a smile to everyone's face when they get a dish of them." The peeps are made with egg white, sugar and gelatin, hand-piped with a pastry bag and then dusted with granulated sugar. The eyes are made of chocolate.

The peeps will be served along with the check as an after-dinner treat at Naha until the Monday after Easter.

Naha is located at 500 N. Clark Street.
