D-Rose Has A Bum Ankle, Going To Be A Daddy

Derrick Rose's star-crossed 2012 continues. Rose is a game time decision for tonight's game against the Knicks at the United Center with a sore ankle.

The Tribune reported Rose was seen walking around the Berto Center in Deerfield with a walking boot around his ankle and his status for tonight will be reevaluated after this morning's shootaround. It's the latest in a series of injuries to befall the reigning NBA MVP this season. Rose has missed 20 games with turf toe, back, ankle and groin injuries already and, with nine games left before the playoffs, a healthy Rose is needed if the Bulls expect to make a deep playoff run, let alone have championship aspirations.

Rose received good news yesterday, as well. Sun-Times Irv Kupcinet impersonator Stella Foster reported Rose and girlfriend Mieka Blackman Reese are expecting a baby in the fall. Foster reports the two have been together since they first met at a party at Excalibur four years ago and cited a source as saying both families are excited by the news. The baby is due in October.
