Schaumburg Hair Stylist Saves Client's Life

A Schaumburg hair stylist was concerned when his 82-year-old client didn't show up for her weekly appointment, and his actions saved her life. Jose Moran of Preferred Hair Salon has styled Joan Ludovice's hair for 20 years, so he knew something was off. He tried calling, then went to her home to see if she was ok. He noticed she hadn't picked up the paper in two days, and, knowing they both loved crossword puzzles, called the police. TribLocal writes:

Officers heard faint sounds and, while looking through a window, saw the woman lying on the floor.

“We saw her on the ground, but then she started moving and it was, ‘Thank God, she’s alive,’” [Officer Tony] Caceres said.

Paramedics arrived to treat the woman, who Caceres described as dehydrated, tired and confused. Ludovice told officers she had fallen at about 10 p.m. the previous evening and was on the ground ever since.

Ludovice had suffered multiple small strokes and a mild heart attack. She is now recovering and hopes to be able to attend a ceremony in which The Hoffman Estates Police Department will honor Moran for his Good Samaritan actions.
