Free Stuff: Pick Up A Free Package Of Thick-Cut Bacon

2012_4_11_OscarMayer.png The bacon-love continues in Chicago. It's probably just a coincidence that this promotion is happening the week before Baconfest, but if we were more conspiracy-minded, we'd suspect guerrilla synergy. Oscar Mayer is debuting its new "Butcher Thick-Cut Bacon" this week in Chicago. This is their attempt to join in on the upscale bacon trend (the bacon is applewood or hickory smoked and seasoned with sea salt) and a special Bacon Truck will be going around and giving away free packages of porky saltyness.

While we might take issue with the "Butcher" in the label (since that brings to mind small shops that make their own bacon, which you should patronize), if you're in the mood for some free meat, get yourself out there. Today, the bacon will be available at 4:00 PM at the corner of State and Van Buren. Tomorrow at 11:30, head to Daley Plaza. At 4:30, go to Wrigley field. Friday, they'll be bringing the bacon to the Willis Tower at 11:30 and to the Union Station Riverwalk at 4. You practically can't avoid this stuff.
