Sláinte! The Guinness Believer Experience Comes To Chicago!

By Minna A in Food on Apr 12, 2012 6:00PM

The Gravity Bar experience in Dublin is hard to duplicate anywhere else, but the folks at Guinness are making a go of it, bringing the interactive experience to Chicago for you to try. Best of all, the experience (and the beer) is free.

The Chicago Illuminating Co. space is transformed to bring guests a glimpse into the Guinness factory tour. Television screens line the walls, one describing the Guinness production process and another describing the six steps for pouring the perfect pint. The best “interactive” portion of the experience is getting a chance to man the station and pour your own perfect pint using the Guinness method. Pour professionals provide individual guidance in the science of the perfect pour, and art that takes 119.53 seconds to create.

Once you've poured your own pint, you head into a theater setting where you can take in some light snacks that complement the brews. Don't pass on the popcorn, a deliciously spicy blend of black pepper, butter, popcorn and peanuts that go well with every Guinness brew, from their regular draught to their black lager. Guests get the chance to watch a short film, compete in creating the perfect pour and sample a selection of Guinness’ other beers.

This event is a definite must for any fan of the famous dark brew: a fun chance to take a picture in front of the Guinness Storehouse Heaven’s Gate, learn to pour a perfect pint and sample a slew of Guinness beers. If that’s not enough to entice you to attend, we remind you: it’s free beer, and who's not a fan of free fun?

The Guinness Believer experience runs until this Friday, April 13. More information and RSVPs are available on www.guinnessbeliever.com.

The Guinness Believer event takes place at the Chicago Illuminating Co. at 19 E. 21st St.
