Last-Minute Plans: After-Words Book Sale

We're fans of After-Words Bookstore, which is located at 23 E. Illinois St. and sells both new and used books. We're also fans of having lots of unread books on our shelves, which is why we're hoping to take advantage of the store's biannual charity sale to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

You'll be able to fill up a bag of used books for $5 today until 6 p.m. and tomorrow from noon-6 p.m. You can bring your own bag, or buy one for $1. We went last year and left with a wide array of fiction and non-fiction titles that we plucked from the hundreds of books for sale. The sooner you go, the better the selection, but you'll be able to find some gems whenever you go.
