Watch Willis Earl Beal Give An Incredible Performance At Last Night's Hideout Show

Friend of Chicagoist Robert Loerzelcaught on video an incredible performance by Willis Earl Beal at last night's sold out show at The Hideout. Considering the lo-fi/outsider art nature of Beal's official full-length Acousmatic Sorcery, released last month, it's remarkable how much of his performance recalls those of a classic, show-stopping soul man.

Watch "Same Old Tears," a Beal song that does not appear on Sorcery, but is part of his repertoire.

Beal won't be playing Chicago again until Pitchfork, so let this whet your appetite. Check out the more subdued "Evening's Kiss" below:
