As if this year's record-setting weather couldn't get any freakier, it now looks as though April will end with a cooler average temperature than March. The last time this happened in Chicago was 1909.

To put the record-breaking March warmth into greater perspective, this April has been warmer than average yet, at 51.1 degrees, is over 2.5 degrees cooler than last month. March ended with an average temperature of 53.3 degrees, with 26 of the 31 days being above average. This will only be the second time in 142 years that the average March temperature is warmer than April's average.
