Before it closed in 2010 as a shadow of its former self, Crobar was one of the hottest nightclubs in Chicago, a place frequented by the likes of Dennis Rodman during the Bulls' rock star second three-peat heyday, Smashing Pumpkins leader Billy Corgan, and out of town celebrities.

Must-read photoblog Calumet 412 looked back at the glory days of Crobar Monday and posted this photo of the old sign outside the club. The person behind Calumet 412 also perfectly captured why so many of us loved Crobar.

"I miss this pre-2001 iteration of the Weed St area bar. It was dingy, dirty and awash in neon. Kind of like stepping into a scene from Blade Runner."

Amen.
