An Elgin woman has been accused of encouraging her 16-year-old daughter to beat up another girl and recording it. The teen girl set up a fight with a 15-year-old girl, and police say Anita Joost, 46, drove her daughter to the fight and told her to "kick her ass." Then she took photos and video of the beating on her cell phone.

CBS writes:

When at first the rival girls were only talking to each other, police said, Joost — watching from a nearby car — called another girl standing near her daughter and said, “Tell her that enough’s enough. Either kick her ass or let’s go home.”

Police allege that after that beating, Joost drove her daughter to a nearby house and encouraged her to begin another fight, which was aborted when the owners of that home came outside and ordered the Joosts to leave.

Police say they pursued charges after seeing a cellphone video taken by one of the victim's friends. Joost faces federal charges of aggravated battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The daughter has been charged with aggravated battery.
