Last Minute Plans: David Hartt’s Stray Light Closes This Weekend

By Amy Cavanaugh in Arts & Entertainment on Apr 28, 2012 7:00PM

A cool, rainy weekend is the ideal time to head to the Museum of Contemporary Art and take in David Hartt’s Stray Light before it closes tomorrow.

Hartt, a Chicago-based Canadian artist, looks at the former Johnson Publishing Company building on S. Michigan Ave., which produced Jet and Ebony magazines. The company moved to a new location in 2010, but the film and photographs on display look at the original building and explore both the company and magazine's roles in African-American culture.
