Hot Doug's is one of Chicago's great cult eateries. It's won every award there is, lines go around the block - you all know the deal. What haven't they done? Written a book. Well, that's about to change - owner Doug Sohn announced this morning that the restaurant would be releasing a book in 2013, and he wants you to contribute.

Yes, you! In a post to Facebook, Sohn emphasized that the book would focus on the community that has grown up around the restaurant.

"The success of the restaurant to me is the community - the part of my job I enjoy more than anything else is the interaction with the customers, and I want this book to be a reflection of that. Plus it’s less work for me."

Sohn encouraged fans of the restaurant to send anything they can think of - poems, stories, drawings or pictures - that relates to their experiences with Hot Doug's. If you've been waiting for the opportunity to publish that epic monologue about foie gras hot dogs, now's your change. Email it to HotDougsTheBook@gmail.com. Our suggestion? Mock up a cut-the-line pass and try to get that published in the book.

One of our Twitter friends may have put it best: "To eat @hotdougs i have to take a day off work and still wait in line, and now he wants us write his book? evil genius."
