Morning Box Score: Sox Crush Indians To Tie Division Lead

The White Sox took the top spot in the AL Central yesterday — sorta. The Sox (12-11), Tigers (12-11) and Indians (11-10) are all just one game over .500. Instead of a race to the top, it's more of a race to mediocrity. This is the Sox' first 3-0 start against the Indians since 2002.
Gordon Beckham shone with three hits. In the second inning, A.J. Pierzynski tied the game at 1. Beckham took things up with a homer in the third. Then Alejandro De Aza hit a simple popup, but neither the shortstop nor third baseman could see through the post-homerun fireworks smoke, and it landed an infield double. With a 4-1 score, the Sox rode that momentum through the game.
