Peterson Trial Hearing Set For Friday

Drew Peterson is expected to be in Will County Court Friday, where he may find out the judge who will preside over his upcoming trial for the murder of his third ex-wife, Kathleen Savio.

It will be the first time Peterson has been in a Will County courtroom since 2010. During that time prosecutors' appeal over whether hearsay statements in their case against Peterson could be used has worked its way up the appellate chain, before the Third Appellate Court ruled the statements could be used.

Peterson's attorneys dropped their appeal over whether hearsay statements could be used against him last week, paving the way for a trial to start as possibly as this spring. Peterson's attorneys said they would fight the use of hearsay evidence during the trial.
