Sons and daughters, Mother's Day is this Sunday. Some of you have been putting this off for weeks, hoping that somehow, the day would never come. Others have spent weeks looking for the perfect way to show your mom how much you care. No matter which category you are in, we've got something for you. Any of these great events would make a mother proud.

If your Mom loves Greek food, you need to take her to Taxim for a big fat Greek brunch. They are open from 11-9, serving up wood-grilled lamb chops, whole roasted Aegean sea bass and grilled grape leaves stuffed with sea smelts. Plus, all moms get a complimentary rose. Call 773-252-1558 for reservations.

Looking for a heartier brunch? Head down to The Gage for lamb shank hash a la plancha with eggs and lobster benedict with poached eggs, brioche, arugula, and lobster hollandaise. They start serving at 10 A.M., and you can walk right up to Michigan Avenue shopping or across the street to the Art Institute after. Call 312-372-4243 for reservations.

Give Mother's Day a latin twist this year. Mercadito's family-style Mother's Day brunch includes a free mimosa and Chef Patricio Sandoval's own mother's recipe for Arroz Verde. Pick three dishes to share amongst the table for just $13.50 per person - that can't be beat. Call 312-329-9555 for reservations.

Brunch is crowded and overpriced - take Mom to Sunday Supper at Nana Organics instead. On Sunday night, they're running a family-style fried chicken dinner from 5-9. The dinner includes deviled eggs with maple-glazed bacon, Gunthorp Farms fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits and your choice of desserts. It's only $22 per person. If you decide to go for brunch instead, be sure to order the sweet potato doughnuts served with dark chocolate and cherry gastrique. For reservations, call 312-929-2486.

If you want to really go nuts, take Mom to brunch at Allium in the Four Seasons. Their decadent brunch includes so much food and so many homemade pastries that she won't be able to walk for a week. There are speciality carving stations, omelets, and an entire fresh asparagus station so you can have asparagus any way you want it. The brunch isn't cheap, though: $130 per person for adults. Call 312-799-4900 for reservations.

We'd love it if someone bought us brunch at C-House. For Mother's day, they're serving a special menu that includes a pineapple ginger float with gin ice cream, pineapple sorbet and ginger soda and a carrot cake shake with carrot ice cream, spiced cake and cream cheese icing. Not everything is sweet - order the pan-seared sea scallops with rhubarb, thyme and celery for a savory entree (before you drink the carrot cake shake). Three courses are $45/person. Call 312-523-0923 for reservations.
