Man Who Claimed His Daughter Was An Abandoned Child Arrested

A South side father is in deep trouble after a two-year-old girl he claimed he found abandoned in a stroller was actually his daughter.

Clint Ross was charged Friday with with contributing to the neglect of a child. Ross, of the 2100 block of West 71st Street, told police he found a stroller with a child at Roosevelt Road and Ashland Avenue May 4. Police were already suspicious of Ross because he provided them with a false name and phone number. Ross later admitted the girl was his daughter and had been in his care until he turned her over to police.

Ross said he was angry that day and, in hindsight, should have left the child with relatives. The girl is now in foster care while the Department of Children and Family Services is investigating.
