Tuesday Afternoon Diversion: When Philip Glass met the French Vandals

By Kevin Robinson in Arts & Entertainment on May 15, 2012 8:00PM

In August of 2010, two French graffiti artists "discovered" an abandoned supermarket in the North of Paris. For over a year, in the utmost secrecy, they turned the space into an illegal artistic residency, featuring murals and other painted works by 40 of France's top graffiti artists. This work, which they dubbed "Le Mausolee," was dedicated to a disappearing underground culture. This video is a tour through that space and time, set to the opening track of Philip Glass's "Glassworks."
