ANARCHISTS R N UR COMPUTUR!!

From the "NATO fearmongering" file: The Sun-Times interviewed a few cyber-security experts for advice on how people can keep their electronic devices safe from an attack by hackers. The only difference between this article and the scores of other articles about securing your wi-fi and not using your birthdate or the last four digits of your Social Security number as passwords is... wait for it... the NATO Summit will be in town.
And NBC Chicago's rehash of the Sun-Times piece makes it seem as though downtown may become a post-apocalyptic society, warning of internet and electrical outages. (That shouldn't be a problem near McCormick Place. Wi-Fi and internet capabilities for the summit have been beefed up.)
Seriously, though. There's been a lot written about security for NATO, but this is simply stupid. One would think protesters and hackers, if they were to stage a cyber attack, would target the big game and not the unsecured Wi-Fi of my next door neighbors. Why would a self-proclaimed anarchist slow someone's Netflix Instant streaming when he can hack the Chase mainframe? Priorities, people.
