John Danks threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings Saturday to help boost the White Sox past the Cubs and one step closer to the BP Crosstown Cup. The White Sox took control of the game early on a two run shot by Dayan Viciedo in the third to secure a 3-0 lead and A.J. Pierzynski had a solo shot in the same inning to build a commanding 4-0 lead over the Cubbies. Ryan Dempster took the loss as the Cubs tried to rally late in the ninth from a 7-0 deficit, much like they did against the Phillies on Thursday, but couldn't claw their way back into the game. Alfonso Soriano and Joe Mather each had two run homers in the ninth to kee the Cubs from being shutout, but the Northsiders were unable to close the gap and are now down 2-0 in the Chicago bragging rights six-game series.
