Implodes Announce New Solo Splits With Drone Duo White/Light

2012_jenmos_graef.jpg Earlier this month, Kranky-signed experimentalists/sound wizards Implodes announced two of their members are releasing new split 10-inch records with members of drone duo White/Light, due in June on Swiss label three:four.

Implodes guitarist Ken Camden shares a split with W/L member Matthew Hale Clark, while second Implodes six-stringer Matt Jencik shares with White/Light soundman Jeremy Lemos, who also plays in underground supernova ">The High Confessions. Check out album art here.

In other White/Light news, the duo announced on its Twitter feed that it has finished mastering their collaborative record with Chicago super soundsmiths Disappears, which it started last year. According to a post from Disappears in March, the collaborative record with White/Light is due in the fall. The two sets of musicians also played together live on stage for 2011's Lollapalooza.

In case none of the above means anything to you, get thee to Spotify. Black Earth, Implodes's 2011 debut disc, is an excellent record, as are all three of Disappears's records, the most recent of which is February's concise leap forward Pre-Language, the first to have Sonic Youth's Steve Shelley on drums.
