We've attended the annual pig roast hosted by Slow Food Chicago and Goose Island Beer Company and can say unequivocally it isn't to be missed. This pigs for this year's event, from 2-5 p.m. June 10 at Goose Island's Fulton Street brewery will be provided by local restaurant and farmers market fave Slagel Family Farms. Owner John Slagel will be in attendance for this pig roast.

This year's lineup of chefs includes X-Marx's Abraham Conlon and Adrienne Lo, Matt Troost of Three Aces, Uncommon Ground Devon's Matthew Holmes, Mark Mendez of Vera and Sable Kitchen & Bar's Heather Terhune. Lest you think this is solely for the carnivores, Green Zebra's Jon Dubois will be making a vegetarian option, and La Boulangerie's Amy Kelsch is handling desserts.

Goose Island, of course, is providing the beer, while Templeton Rye will be making cocktails and Intelligentsia will have coffee. Each ticket purchase gets you a commemorative glass and all the food and drinks that you can shove down your gullet. (Responsibly, of course.) Right now there are two levels of ticket options available. General admission tickets are $60 and are available online. An $80 "Terra Madre" ticket gains the ticketholder entry, with $20 going toward sending a delegate to October's Terra Madre conference in Torino, Italy.

Tickets to this year's pig roast will be for sale online through June 8. After that, they'll be available at the door.
