If you couldn't tell from Skilling Central's forecast (or your growing pool of swamp ass), this Memorial Day is set to be a scorcher. It's going to get muggy tomorrow while Sunday may see the hottest weather around here since last July and Memorial Day itself will be hot and humid with possible thunderstorms to soak your cookouts.

I'll be working on my farmer's tan with some long bike rides and the lakefront is sure to be packed now that beaches are open. For those of you who want to get out of the sun in relative comfort, check out what's happening at a few of our classic movie houses.

- Rob Christopher has raved about the renovated Logan Theatre. This weekend the Logan is hosting a "flashback weekend" that kicked off last night with a late night screening of Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Tonight at 10::45 p.m. they're screening Ghostbusters. Seek fortune and glory with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 11 p.m. tomorrow night and eat lightning and crap thunder with Rocky 10:45 p.m. Sunday. tickets are available at the Logan Theatre's website. (2646 N. Milwaukee Ave.)

- Check out the Portage Theater's revamped website and, while you're at it, take a good look at that free screening of E.T. 7:30 p.m. tomorrow night. Door open at 6:30 p.m. and the Portage has helpfully listed where you can get your free tickets so you can spend the money you save on Reese's Pieces. (4050 N. Milwaukee Ave.)

- Have you been waiting until The Hunger Games is released on Blu-ray and DVD to see it? Why not head out to the Patio Theater, which is screening the film Friday: 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. tonight; Saturday at 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. For $5 you have money saved for more concessions, which can go towards the Patio's efforts to buy s digital projector so they can stay open. (and if you can't visit the Patio, donate to the theater's Kickstarter campaign to buy a digital projector. (6008 W. Irving Park Rd.)
