More Than 600 Chicago Fans To Swarm Crew Stadium As The Fire Face Columbus

CHI_primary_COL-Chicago-Fire-Logo-MLS.jpg It's been a bit of a bruising spring for Chicago sports fans. From D-Rose's bum knee to the Cubs'...well, the Cubs' everything (thanks, Tom Ricketts), local sports fans haven't had much to cheer about (unless you're a Sox fan).

That is, unless we count our dear (if unfairly overlooked) soccer squad. Fresh off their 2-1 win over FC Dallas this past Wednesday, The Chicago Fire is hanging out in a respectable 4th place slot in the Eastern Conference. To climb the ranks (or at least maintain) the Men In Red have to best their Midwestern rivals, Columbus Crew in tomorrow's away game showdown.

To give the team a boost, the Fire Front Office is paying the way for ten buses worth of Fire fans to watch the game from Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Originally a collaboration between the Fire's VP of Ticket Sales and the Independent Supporters Association, Section 8 Chicago, this is the second year the club has picked up the travel expense tab for fans, including season ticket holders and the Sector Latino fan group.

If you're not in one of those ten buses, you can catch the match on NBC5 now that the club has reached an agreement for a regional broadcasting schedule.

In the meantime, check out two of the team's new spots, starring star player Dominic Oduro and goalkeeper Sean Johnson.
