Eduard Khil, a singer who was a star in the Soviet Union, died today at age 77. Although Khil will be remembered for the viral video of him singing the nonsensical lyrics "trololo" to a censored Russian pop song "I Am Glad, 'Cause I'm Finally Returning Back Home," Khil was quite the singing sensation in his day.

In memory of Khil, we present his 1971 hit song "Зима" or "Winter." We also leave the internet with Khil's request that his hit song could serve as a reminder that music transcends our linguistic differences, if we could each put a little bit of ourselves into those songs.
