Do This: Growing Home Urban Farm Open House On Saturday

Growing Home is hosting an open house at Wood Street Urban Farm in Englewood tomorrow. The free event for staff and supporters features chef demonstrations, a nutrition workshop and a community gardeners summit. Munch on guacamole and spinach smoothies while you attend the events, then take a tour of the farm and stock up on produce at the farm stand.

Growing Home is an organization that provides transitional employment to Chicagoans with barriers to employment like having previously been homeless or incarcerated. The program provides job training to find permanent employment for its employees.

Growing Home Urban Farm Open House is at Wood Street Urban Farm, at 5814 S. Wood Street, Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Farm stand 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
