Chris Sale helped the White Sox to victory Saturday by winning his fifth consecutive game. Sale (8-2) gave up no runs, struck out seven and gave up only four singles. It was a 0-0 ball game until the White Sox came to life in the fifth inning when Alejandro De Aza, Gordon Beckham, and Alex Rios all had RBIs and Adam Dunn hit a sacrifice fly to score De Aza, but he had a big inning later. Dunn hit his 19th homer of the season and it was his 12th career grand slam, which boosted the Sox from a 6-0 to a 10-0 lead. Zack Stewart game up a home run in the ninth, but the Astros didn't get a chance to create a 10-run rally.

Minnesota 11, Cubs 3

Jeff Samardzija could not find his rhythm Saturday and allowed eight runs and nine hits in only 3 2/3 innings of work, his shortest game of the season. The Cubs have now lost 20 of their last 24. Alfonso Soriano hit his 12th homer in 24 games driving in Koyie Hill for the two run dinger, but it was a fruitless effort in the eighth inning already down 11-1 with no real help from the mound.
