We're Now Making Holograms Of Living Musicians, Apparently

Some fans felt duped by a hologram of Carrie Underwood that performed with Brad Paisley at Wrigley Field Saturday night. As The A.V. Club noted, a lot of folks complained on Twitter and suggested perhaps the practice of using holograms should be... pardon the pun... more transparent. This isn't a new development, either. The video below of the Underwood hologram is from a Paisley show in Milwaukee months ago.
It's cool that we have the technology to do this, but shouldn't we at least save the effort for dead musicians? Frankly, the only holograms we want to see onstage would be appearing with Jem.
