The Real Joe Walsh Stands Up In Illinois Congressional Race

Musician Joe Walsh endorses Tammy Duckworth, Congressman Joe Walsh's opponent, saying, "I'm the real Joe Walsh." The Tea Party congressman's campaign says she can keep the Eagles guitarist's endorsement and "the support of the 'Hotel California' liberal elite."
“I’m the real Joe Walsh and I'm proud to back a real American success story — Tammy Duckworth,” Walsh the Musician said in a statement. “Tammy's story, her service to our nation and her continued commitment to working families (like the one I come from!) have convinced me that she’s the right choice for Congress.”
The 8th congressional district race pits Tea Party darling Walsh against Democratic Iraq War veteran Duckworth. It's one of the key races in this fall's election.
“Is anyone really surprised when Tammy gets support from the liberal entertainment industry?” said Christian Morgan, a spokesman for Rep. Walsh. “Tammy can have the support of the ‘Hotel California’ liberal elite. Congressman Walsh is more concerned with getting the support of hard-working families from the 8th District.”
Walsh the Musician will also perform at a fundraiser for Duckworth on July 1 at John Barleycorn in Schaumburg.
