Thursday Afternoon Diversion: The Perfect Game

With the recent uptick in no hitters and perfect games in Major League Baseball this season, the sports commentariat is agog with "what does it all mean" and "has baseball changed now?"
With that in mind, we take a look back, to this week, 42 years ago, when Dock Ellis pitched a no-hitter against the San Diego Padres. 14 years later Ellis would admit to being on LSD at the time. This video is an animated short of Ellis's recollection that game, as told by Ellis to Donnell Alexander and Neille Ilel, producers of NPR's Weekend America.
