One For The Road: Happy 70th Birthday, Roger Ebert

By Samantha Abernethy in Arts & Entertainment on Jun 18, 2012 10:40PM

Film Critic Roger Ebert was born on this date in 1942 in Urbana, Ill. Ebert started writing at the Sun-Times in 1967, and he won a Pulitzer Prize in 1975. Ebert lost his ability to speak a couple of years ago, but he's always communicating on the Internet. Here are a few videos of Ebert, and if you don't follow him on Twitter you're missing out.

Here he is discussing losing his ability to speak with CBS News in 2011.

Here's Ebert chatting with Conan O'Brien back in 1996.

What did Gene Siskel and Ebert have to say about Jurassic Park back in 1993. The good Ebert stuff is at 2:30.

P.S. Doesn't it seem somewhat appropriate that Paul McCartney and Roger Ebert were born on the same day?
