SoYeahDuh Blogger Goes Public

When we first discovered SoYeahDuh.tumblr.com, we were all like...
The absurd animated gifs alongside the Chicago locales we know and love/hate were the perfect combination to distract us from work for a couple of hours. That's why when we found out SoYeahDuh went public, we were all like...
We were skeptical because we weren't sure how we felt when Dan Sinker went public as @MayorEmanuel in February 2011. At first it was a relief when he went public because our curiosity was finally resolved, and our suspicions were confirmed. Then the media circus around him continued for months, then turned into a book deal, which then turned into a much-hyped book release, and we watched it unravel for months.
Eventually we were thoroughly Sinkered out, though. It didn't help that @MayorEmanuel was sucked into a vortex before Sinker went public, so there was no new content to remind us of the hilarity we'd loved when it existed. Sinker threw out some teaser tweets, and that would've been nice if they weren't such a blatant way of promoting the new book. So what did we think when folks suggested SoYeahDuh go public?
Like @MayorEmanuel, SoYeahDuh became popular quickly, so naturally people started wondering who was making us laugh our guts out every day. But anonymity doesn't matter so much in this case. SoYeahDuh doesn't have a political element, and it isn't a spoof on a famous person. It's just a bunch of photos, and so long as it keeps on going and stays funny while Miss Lisa Frame sells out, it doesn't matter who runs it.
So how do we feel about the announcement that the social media sensation was predictably created by a 20-something woman who purports herself to be a "social media expert" "digital strategist"?
