Man Charged In Beating Death Of Daughter In Dolton Motel

A Dixmoor man has been charged with the murder of his teenage daughter, who was found beaten to death in a motel in Dolton earlier this week.

34-year-old Larry D. Woods faces one count of first-degree murder. Dolton Police say Woods admitted he was high on marijuana and PCP when he beat his 16-year-old daughter, Gloria Wood (spelled as per the Cook County Medical Examiner's office), so severely he broke her nose and jaw, and fractured her skull and vertebrae in her back. Police responded to the scene Wednesday after a motel housekeeper found Gloria Wood in her room unresponsive.

Larry Woods allegedly told Dolton police he and his daughter were arguing over money. Gloria Wood, who lived in Park Forest, was in Dolton for a regular visit with her father.
