They Aren't Saying "Youk," Mr. President

The nation's number one White Sox fan couldn't help couldn't help but let Red Sox fans know how happy he was that Kevin Youkilis is now at 35th and Shields during a campaign stop at Boston's Symphony Hall Monday night, and was promptly reminded that sometimes it isn't right to mix politics and sports.

Obama violated the "too soon" rule when he told attendees, “Boston, I just want to say thank you for Youkilis.” Of course, anytime is "too soon" for Boston sports fans, but they let Obama have it anyway, to which the President doubled down. "I’m just saying, he’s going to have to change the color of his socks." That may have been enough to make a few switch their vote to Mitt Romney.

Youkilis, by the way, batted second in the White Sox lineup and went 1-for-4 in the Sox' 4-1 loss.
