With the official temperature at O'Hare reaching 102 degrees Wednesday Chicago tied the hottest Fourth of July on record. Today we're flirting with more of the same. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning until 10 p.m. Friday, when the area is finally expected to see some rain and a drastic decrease in temperature. As for today we're due for another day of temperatures above 100 with heat indexes reaching 110-112 degrees.
Again, check in on the elderly and those without air conditioning and take advantage of city and state cooling stations.
