Chris Sale Likely Won't Start All-Star Game

He's got the second-best ERA in the American League and was named the AL Pitcher of the Month for May, but Chris Sale won't get the starting nod in the All-Star Game on Tuesday.
The White Sox have decided to limit the young pitcher to just one inning, which Robin Ventura announced yesterday.
"Yeah, he won't be starting that game -- unless he goes one, which is unlikely," said Ventura of Sale during his news conference Saturday morning. "It's an inning. It's going to be an inning. It won't be more. He knows it, everybody knows it."
“Darn,” Sale said when informed by media of the White Sox's decision to limit him. “It would be something that would be great, but at the same time I’m not going to complain about it. It’s still an honor to be there. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the beginning, end or somewhere in-between, I’m excited to be there.”
It's hard to blame the White Sox for wanting to limit Sale's arm, which has racked up an impressive 10-2 record, 2.19 ERA, and 0.95 WHIP this season. Sale will be playing with fellow White Sox Paul Konerko and Adam Dunn on the American League team, while Starlin Castro and Bryan LaHair will represent the Cubs.
