Police say four men exited a white limousine in Wrigleyville around 1 a.m. Sunday and began beating people standing nearby on the street. Witnesses say the attacks were made at random, but the suspects say they were being taunted. The attack was filmed by people remaining in the limo,
Relatives of the men claim the video being shot by the men will prove the case that they were being taunted. One relative claimed someone grabbed one of the men before the beatings. The men had borrowed the white limo from a friend to film the video — and had chosen Wrigleyville for a “celebratory shot.”
Three men were injured, one of whom suffered a broken jaw. During arrest, one of the men scuffled with a police officer, who sustained minor injuries. The four men have been charged with, among other things, mob action and aggravated battery.
