From the "don't do the crime if you can't do the time" file: a Joliet teen received a quick case in tough love from a Cook County Sheriff's deputy after he was arrested for possessing laughing gas, balloons and ecstasy.
The 17-year-old whom the Tribune didn't identify but the Sun-Times did, was stopped at the 4700 block of West Fullerton Avenue, nowhere near a Phish concert, with the items and proceeded to resist arrest and was tasered. He was charged with two counts of resisting arrest as well as manufacture and delivery of the nitrous oxide and possession of MDMA and had to be repeatedly warned by his attorney not to harm his defense by speaking directly to Judge Adam Bourgeois, Jr.
Bourgeois set the teen's bail at $25,000 and, when the teen protested that he didn't have the money to post bail, a sheriff's deputy told him to "Stop crying, stop crying!"
