We've followed the saga of Logan Square Kitchen's closing fairly obsessively - at least we can take some comfort in the fact that their plight may have inspired some of the recent restaurant reforms. Another silver lining has just appeared - the Chicago Diner, the long-lived Vegan restaurant in Lakeview, is opening a second location in the former Logan Square Kitchen Space.

According to the Logan Square Kitchen Facebook page, they turned over the keys to the Chicago Diner folks today. The new location, the only other Chicago Diner outside of Lakeview, will open this fall.

There isn't any info yet about the new place or the menu, but given the number of vegetarians and hipster in Logan Square, we can only imagine it will be a smashing success. Here's hoping they don't change much about the LSK interior, since it's one of the best spaces in the neighborhood. Oh, and they'd better bring the Vegan Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Shake. Seriously.
