Chicago metal quintet The Atlas Moth have been busy little headbanging bees. Not only are they playing this year's Pitchfork Music Festival, and an aftershow at Ultra Lounge on the same day, they recently took to their social media accounts to announce a new mini-tour and the start of a new album, the follow-up to last year's breakthrough genre-smasher An Ache For The Distance. The tour will be a small jaunt with Irish black metal act Alter of Plagues, and will start on August 31st at Chicago's Ultra Lounge. From there, the tour hits Toronto, Philly, Boston, and a handful of other cities. Check dates here, or scan below:
8.31 - Chicago - Ultra Lounge
9.01 - Detroit - Magic Stick
9.02 - Toronto - Sneaky Dee's
9.03 - Montreal - Katacombs
9.04 - Boston - The Great Scott
9.05 - Brooklyn - Saint Vitus
9.06 - Philly - The Barbary
9.07 - Raleigh - Hopscotch Music Festival
And, if you're unfamiliar with The Atlas Moth, check out this live performance at Reckless Records of "Perpetual Generations" from this year's Record Store Day. It's like ZZ Top, if ZZ Top listened to a fuck ton of thrash metal.
