Bulls Trade Korver

The dismantling of the Bulls' "Bench Mob" continues. Tribune Bulls beat reporter K.C. Johnson reported that Kyle Korver was traded to the Atlanta Hawks Friday afternoon in a three-way deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In return the Bulls will receive a second-round pick from Minnesota.
Korver's deal with the Bulls guaranteed him $500,000 if the club didn't pick up his 2012-13 option before Sunday, so they're off the hook there. Korver signed two seasons ago with the Bulls from Utah and quickly became an integral member of the bench with his three-point shooting skills. His departure, along with the Bulls refusing options on CJ Watson and Ronnie Brewer, the uncertainty over whether they'll match Houston's tender to Omer Asik, bringing Kirk Hinrich back to the team, the uncertainty over whether Luol Deng will have wrist surgery after the London Olympics and, oh, yeah, Derrick rose's recovery from ACL surgery, and this team looks to be in a holding pattern for next season, at least..
